The glycemic index basically is a measure of how fast does the rate of digestion of the foods we eat affects our blood sugar level. Different foods have different rate, and since we are testing the consequences on the blood sugar, maybe we should tackle the sugar glycemic index today.

In summary, sugar has a moderate GI value, it does not cause too much rise on the blood sugar level and the quantity you consume would still be a determinant of the effect. So don’t suffer from bland tasting food, it wouldn’t cause you harm.
